PROJECT OVERVIEW
I worked on redesigning the website for OrdinalPunks - a pioneering NFT project that introduced the first 100 profile picture NFTs inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain using an open-source algorithm. With a limited supply of only 100 NFTs minted among the first 650 inscriptions, OrdinalPunks represented a groundbreaking intersection of crypto art and Bitcoin's decentralized ecosystem. My client's primary objective was to revamp their existing website, crafting an immersive digital experience that would effectively introduce this novel NFT concept while seamlessly integrating a marketplace for users to explore and purchase the coveted OrdinalPunks NFTs through a user-friendly interface.
DEFINE PROBLEM
︎Lack of a "Top Sales" section: The client wanted to showcase popular and trending OrdinalPunks NFTs on the homepage to generate interest and drive sales. The existing website lacked this feature, making it difficult for users to discover top-selling NFTs.
︎Absence of a custom Minting interface: The original website redirected users to a third-party platform for minting and purchasing NFTs. The client desired a custom Minting interface integrated directly into the website to provide a seamless user experience and maintain brand consistency.
︎Need for a revamped DIY OrdinalPunks creation interface: The client wanted to enhance the DIY OrdinalPunks creation interface with a pixel-art style while maintaining a minimalist visual design. The existing interface lacked the desired aesthetic appeal and required improvements to attract and engage users.
︎Presence of redundant features: The website contained redundant features, such as the "Ordinals Guide," which cluttered the user experience. The client wanted to streamline the website by removing unnecessary elements and optimizing the user journey.

DESIGN DECISIONS
Due to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with the client, I am unable to share specific details or visuals from the first and second prototypes. However, I can provide an overview of the key aspects we focused on during these stages of the design process.
In the initial stages, I engaged in discussions with the client to refine the website's functionality and aesthetic direction. We identified redundant features that could be removed to streamline the user experience and proposed new functions to enhance the website's overall usability and engagement.
Particular attention was given to the design of the mints page, a crucial component of the OrdinalPunks platform. We explored various design options together and I presented the client with a curated selection of styles, color schemes, and typography that aligned with their brand identity and target audience.
To ensure the client's vision was accurately captured, I provided them with multiple design alternatives for the overall website aesthetic. This allowed the client to select the option that resonated most with their preferences and the OrdinalPunks brand.
Throughout the process, I maintained confidentiality in accordance with the NDA, ensuring that all proprietary information and design assets remained protected. By collaborating closely with the client and iterating on the prototype designs, I am able to establish a solid foundation for the website's functionality and visual direction, setting the stage for the subsequent development phases.
While I cannot disclose specific details or show the actual prototypes, I hope this overview provides insight into the critical aspects I addressed during the first and second prototype stages of the OrdinalPunks website redesign.

EVALUATIONS

︎ What I Learned: This project provided a valuable learning experience in designing for the dynamic and emerging NFT space. I gained insights into the unique requirements and user expectations when it comes to NFT platforms. Working with on-chain data and integrating minting functionality was a new challenge that helped me understand the technical intricacies involved. Additionally, I learned the importance of creating a cohesive and immersive brand experience, seamlessly blending the digital art aspects with e-commerce functionalities.
︎ Moving Forward: This project has reinforced my passion for working in the dynamic web3 and NFT space. As the adoption of blockchain technology and digital collectibles continues to grow, I am excited to explore more innovative design solutions that cater to this rapidly evolving landscape. I aim to stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in this field, continuously expanding my skillset. Looking ahead, I am eager to collaborate with other forward-thinking teams and projects, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in terms of user experiences within the decentralized web.
